This adaptation is ideal to the central Brazil area, allowing the animal to course long distances and mate in the fields. The Nelore x Bonsmara F1 calf raised under an extensive production (pasture only) is known to be resistant to ticks and also have good weaning weights such as 230 kg. In addition, resulting animals from Bonsmara female or 1/2 European blood mother, acquires higher weaning weights (240 kg), gaining 1.5 kg/day in a feedlot system.
